Ballet Turnout Workshop

May 20-21, 2024 | Shanghai, China

This two-day intensive gathered participants from across China—including Shenzhen, Beijing, Guangzhou, Wenzhou, Hangzhou, and Nanjing—for an in-depth exploration of one of ballet’s most fundamental yet complex techniques: turnout.

The workshop was co-led by a professional physiotherapist and an experienced ballet dancer, combining science and artistry in a unique training format.
Participants learned to:

  • Apply safe and progressive training strategies for both children and adults

  • Strengthen deep external rotators, improve pelvic stability, and optimize alignment

  • Repattern habitual movement through hands-on guidance, functional exercises, and ballet-based movement
